About the Author

A note about me: I am a complex-trauma survivor and have been diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety/social anxiety disorder (which is why you’ll never know my name or see my face). Writing this blog is by far the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever done in my life, but the thought of helping one person feel less alone is what’s propelling me to do this, among many other things. I knew I had to do this, as jarring and painful as it might be.

I actually don’t know how I survived what I went through, and I mean that in regards to somehow building a resilience to keep going in life. I didn’t know how to navigate getting out of my situation, but what I know for sure, is that there were very strategic people: teachers, angels, path changers placed in my life. I believe those people are the only reason I am who I am today, along with my own continued work and growth. I hope this blog can help you and be a source of comfort; a sort of shining light, acceptance of conditions, or perspective shifter for you.

This is definitely not a self-help blog. This is just my story of abuse, neglect, betrayal, love, boundaries, healing, and trying to find the way back to myself.
